Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between the student/learner driver ("Learner/Student") and Yarra City Driving School ("YCDS") for the provision of driving lessons and related services.

1. Eligibility

• The Learner/Student must hold a current and valid Learner Driving Permit or any other legally recognized driver’s license that allows them to drive in the state or territory where they are undertaking driving lessons.

• The Learner/Student agrees to comply with all applicable local, state, and national traffic laws while participating in driving lessons.

• The Learner/Student must provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding their license status when booking lessons.

• Any changes to the Learner/Student’s license status or eligibility must be reported to YCDS immediately.

2. Payment Policy

• Full payment is required before the commencement of each driving lesson.

• Payment methods accepted include cash, check, manual, and credit card transactions.

• YCDS reserves the right to change the price of driving lessons at any time without prior notice.

• If a driving lesson package, gift card, or individual lesson expires, it cannot be credited, refunded, used, or transferred.

• All payments are non-refundable, except where required by consumer protection laws.

3. Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

3.1 Standard Cancellation Policy

• If a lesson is canceled or rescheduled with more than 48 hours’ notice, the Learner/Student will receive 100% lesson credit for future use.

• No refunds are provided for canceled lessons, even if canceled more than 48 hours in advance.

3.2 Late Cancellations & No-Show Policy

• If a lesson is canceled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the scheduled session, the lesson is forfeited, and no credit or refund will be provided.

• If the Learner/Student fails to attend a booked lesson ("No Show"), the lesson is forfeited with no refund.

Definition of "No Show":

• A Learner/Student will be considered a "No Show" if they:

  • Do not attend the scheduled lesson.

  • Are unreachable within 15 minutes of the lesson start time.

  • Arrive without their Learner Permit or required documentation, making the lesson invalid.

3.3 NDIS Participants – Special Cancellation Policy

• Rescheduling: If an NDIS participant cancels a lesson at least 24 hours in advance, they may reschedule at no additional cost.

• Late Cancellations & No-Show: If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson or the participant is a "No Show," the full lesson fee will be charged.

4. Gift Cards

• YCDS offers gift cards that can be used for purchasing driving lessons.

• Once purchased, gift cards are non-refundable and can only be redeemed or transferred into YCDS driving credits.

• Gift cards expire after a set period (all gift cards are valid for 36 months from the date of purchase). If not used before the expiration date, the card becomes void and cannot be refunded or transferred.

5. Conduct & Safety Guidelines

5.1 Learner Conduct

• The Learner/Student must:

  • Wear a seatbelt at all times during lessons.

  • Wear appropriate footwear (no open-toed shoes, sandals, or high heels).

  • Follow all instructions given by the instructor.

  • Maintain a respectful and cooperative attitude.

5.2 Unsafe or Irresponsible Behavior

• Lessons may be terminated immediately if a Learner/Student:

  • Engages in reckless driving or unsafe actions.

  • Disrespects the instructor or disrupts the learning environment.

  • Shows signs of intoxication or impairment.

• Any lesson terminated for safety violations is forfeited with no refund.

6. Driving Tests

6.1 Eligibility for Driving Tests

• Learners under 21 years old must:

  • Hold a valid learner’s permit.

  • Have completed 120 hours of supervised driving (including 20 hours of night driving).

  • Have passed The Hazard Perception Test (VicRoads).

• Learners must be at least 18 years old and have held their learner’s permit for at least 36 months before attempting the test.

6.2 Arrival & Punctuality

• Participants must arrive on time for their scheduled VicRoads test.

• Late arrivals may result in forfeiture of the test session.

• Participants must have their mobile phone turned on at the meeting location to coordinate with their instructor.

6.3 Test Conduct & Requirements

• Participants must:

  • Bring their learner’s permit and any required documentation.

  • Follow all traffic laws and demonstrate safe driving habits.

  • Turn off all mobile phones during the test.

• If incorrect booking details are provided, the session will be canceled with no refund.

6.4 Evaluation & Test Results

• The drive test will assess the participant’s:

  • Traffic law compliance.

  • Speed control and lane discipline.

  • Overall ability to safely operate a vehicle.

• If the participant fails the test, additional training may be recommended before a retake.

7. Services & Policy Changes

• YCDS reserves the right to modify, add, or remove services at any time without prior notice.

• Prices and terms may be updated without prior notification.

8. Booking Policy & Fraud Prevention

8.1 Prohibited Activities

Learners are strictly prohibited from engaging in fraudulent activities, including:

• Tampering with the online booking system.

• Providing false information to gain unauthorized bookings.

• Attempting to bypass system controls or exploit system vulnerabilities.

8.2 Consequences of Fraudulent Activity

Any violation will result in:

• Immediate cancellation of affected lessons without refund.

• Suspension or permanent banning from future YCDS bookings.

• Legal action if necessary to recover damages or prevent further violations.

8.3 System Monitoring & Enforcement

• YCDS monitors booking activities to detect fraud.

• If fraudulent behavior is identified, YCDS reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Agreement & Acknowledgment

By booking a session, the Learner/Student agrees and affirms that they:

✔ Have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

✔ Hold a valid driving permit required for their selected state or territory.

✔ Will abide by all YCDS policies, driving laws, and instructor guidelines.
